Harding Shymanski & Company received the 2006 Family Friendly Health & Benefit Program Award in the small firm category (1 – 150 employees) at the Seventh Annual Family Friendly and Diversity Practices Awards luncheon held at the Evansville Museum. We also won this award in 2003, 2002 and 2001.

These awards are a joint effort by the Workforce Investment Board and the Evansville-Area Human Resources Association. The purpose of the program is to honor and recognize companies within our area that are leaders in developing a workplace that embraces diversity and family friendly practices and to share best practices to promote diversity within our community.

Health Insurance
A group plan is offered to all employees with HSC currently paying 95% of single coverage and 50% of family coverage.
401K Plan
HSC provides the opportunity for employees to participate in a 401K plan.
Professional Certification Reimbursement and Bonus
CPA Designation – HSC provides reimbursement for state exam sitting fees, exam application fee and CPA exam review courses. A bonus for completing the exam will be distributed if the exam is passed within 18 months of hire.
Short-Term Disability Program
Employees on a disability leave will be compensated for up to one month's pay. An additional short-term disability coverage option is available to each employee.
Long-Term Disability Program
Insurance options are available to those who wish to participate in a long-term disability insurance program.
Life Insurance
Life insurance is available through the group health insurance.
Dental Insurance
A group plan is available to all employees.
Benefits Offered During Tax Season
  • Saturday Daycare: On-site daycare is offered for children of employees working on Saturdays during tax season.
  • Saturday Breakfast: A continental breakfast is provided for all employees working on Saturdays during tax season.
  • Dinners: Frequently during tax season, HSC provides catered dinners to employees who are working late.

Sports Teams
HSC sponsors sports teams, such as softball and volleyball, for employees to participate in throughout the year.
Employer-Paid Parking
Education Assistance
HSC provides tuition reimbursement for some job-related courses. In addition, a program to assist those pursuing the CPA designation in earning 150 hours of university credit is available to qualified individuals.
Business Casual Dress
Individuals may choose to wear business casual dress when appropriate for his or her workday schedule.
Mentoring Program
HSC has developed a mentoring program to assist in understanding the firm culture and values and encourage the sharing of experiences and use of talents among all members of the firm.
Wellness Program
Our wellness program includes weekly visits by a health-care professional and activities to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Success Through People Program
Our Success Through People Program helps employees set goals and monitor their progress in attaining them. Advisors work with individuals to assess the quality of overall performance, including strengths as well as areas for growth.
