HSC is proud to sponsor seminars in Louisville, Kentucky and Evansville, Indiana to present the 2010 Manufacturing & Wholesale Distribution National Annual Survey Results
The 5th Annual McGladrey Manufacturing and Wholesale Distribution National Survey provides a panoramic view of the industry. The 1,061 executive respondents report that after several years of deterioration, business conditions are showing clear signs of improvement. But their optimism is tempered and the recovery remains fragile.
Even though economic conditions are improving, the recovery will not be straight and smooth. The survey provides an understanding of how manufacturers and distributors are recovering from the recession. Best practices of how companies are balancing the renewed optimism about the future with reservations about the current situation are highlighted throughout the survey report.

About the speaker
Tom Murphy oversees McGladrey's largest industry practice - manufacturing and wholesale distribution. As industry practice leader, Murphy ensures delivery of high quality service offerings that respond to the changing needs of manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors. He has served clients in the food, industrial products, consumer goods and alternative energy segments of the industry.
Murphy's manufacturing and distribution experience includes strategy development and implementation, new product innovations, international operations and sourcing, company restructurings, production rationalization and implementation of new technologies.
Murphy's current responsibilities include directing McGladrey's manufacturing and wholesale distribution national survey, which receives over 1,000 responses yearly from U.S. industry executives. The survey collects and reports on the status of the industry, challenges facing the industry, as well as best practices for competing in the global economy.

He sits on NAM's Small and Medium Manufacturing committee, as well as its Tax and Domestic Economic Policy committee. He serves on the board of trustees for The Manufacturing Institute, NAM's research and education arm.
