Harding, Shymanski & Company, P.S.C. has joined the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center for CPA firms.
The Center is a national community of CPA firms that demonstrate a commitment to employee benefit plan audit quality and raise awareness about the importance of employee benefit plan audits.
Members of the Center demonstrate their commitment by voluntarily agreeing to adhere to Center membership requirements, including designating a partner responsible for its employee benefit plan audit practice, establishing firm-wide training and quality control programs, performing annual internal inspection procedures, and making the firm’s peer review report findings publicly available.

Employee Benefit Plan audits require specialized experience.
As you may know, audits of employee benefit plans are experiencing increasing scrutiny from the U.S. Department of Labor. While plan sponsors are being held to a higher level of responsibility for faulty audits (not necessarily just faulty plans), it’s reassuring to know that you have the option of working with a team of specialists to guide you through the auditing requirements for your benefit plans.
At Harding, Shymanski & Company, P.S.C., we have an entire team dedicated to auditing employee benefit plans. We do not consider these audits to be “filler work” or a training ground for new staff. All of our team members receive annual training at both the national and local levels. As a result, we understand the issues surrounding qualified benefit plans, giving you the assurance of accurate and comprehensive audits. HSC also gives you:
- A cost effective engagement approach
- Efficient coordination with the plan sponsor, trustee, and third party administrator
- Completion of reports within your time frame
- Availability to technical support throughout the year from our own administration specialists
