At Harding, Shymanski & Company, P.S.C., our objective is to provide quality and timely services that exceed your expectations.
We focus on your business and industry and will provide suggestions for improving your procedures, controls and operations.
An audit is the highest level of attest service. The objective of an audit is to express an opinion about whether the financial statements are presented in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles.
Our audit approach is to perform the engagement using a risk-based approach that focuses on high risk areas. We minimize surprises through identification of accounting or reporting issues early in the planning stage and through periodic meetings with management.
At completion of the engagement, we will provide a letter to management with suggestions for improving procedures, controls and operations.
A review is the next level of assurance service. The objective of a review is for limited assurance, based on inquiry and analytical procedures, that there are no material modifications that should be made to the financial statements.
When compared to an audit, a review does not include, among other things, an understanding of the internal control structure and assessing control risk, tests of accounting records, or obtaining corroborating evidence through inspection, observation or confirmation.
A compilation is the lowest level of assurance service. The objective of a compilation is to present in the form of financial statements, information that is the representation of management. No assurance is expressed on the statements.
Under agreed upon procedures, we perform procedures as directed by management and will submit our findings in a written report. This service is often used to assist management with investigation of misappropriations, assist management with due diligence in connection with acquiring a company, or to assist financial institutions and leasing companies with procedures related to certain accounts (revenues, inventory, receivables).
| Financial Forecasts and Projections |
Financial forecasts and projections provide prospective information based on assumptions. This service is often used to negotiate financing with financial institutions.
