KY F.A.M.E.: Advanced Education for Next Generation Manufacturers

At this year’s Metro Manufacturing Alliance Summit, Toyota’s Denis Dio Parker spoke on how Toyota, and other companies, are solving the problems of an aging technical workforce and filling new technical jobs with young, highly-skilled workers.

The Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education, F.AM.E., developed the Advanced Manufacturing Technician Program, which allows companies to train students out of high school to be work-force ready. It is a Career Pathway Program, meaning that they target potential future employees from a young age and continue to develop them throughout their career. This award winning program has been adopted by 300 employers in 9 states and has a graduate placement rate of over 95%.
