Brackets for Good Louisville 2017 Champion Crowned

On Friday March 31st, Neighborhood House was crowned Brackets for Good Louisville 2017 Champion. Neighborhood House raised over $13,000 in the championship round to score an additional $10,000 donation for winning the tournament.

Their donation total for six rounds of the tournament was $64,125. Runner-up in the tournament, LifeSpan Resources raised just under Brackets for Good Proud Supporter badge 2017$10,000 in the final round and had a total of $23,236 for the tournament’s six rounds.

Harding, Shymanski & Company, P.S.C. has been a division and round sponsor of the Louisville Brackets for Good tournament since it’s inaugural year in 2015. The Firm has been among the Top 10 Most Philanthropic Companies for individual donations each year, according to the Brackets for Good website.

Brackets for Good is nonprofit organization formed in Indianapolis in 2011 by a group of friends from Butler University with the idea that a bracket-style giving campaign could generate excitement around philanthropic giving. Since that time, Brackets for Good has grown to host tournaments in 11 cities in the U.S. as well as a national campaign. Dollars raised by Louisville nonprofits totalled more than $260,000 this year. Across all 12 Brackets for Good tournaments for 2017, the total dollars given was just under $3.5 million according to their website.
